Oscars 2010: Golden Globes bring things into focus
With the announcement of the Golden Globe nominations this week, the likely
contenders for the 2010 Oscars are coming into sharper focus. The Globes
have long been regarded as a indicator of things to come, and you only have
to compare the 2009 lists for confirmation of how closely they tend to
coincide.
In the 20 nominations for the four major categories (best film, director,
actor and actress), the Globe and Oscar voters made the same choices 15
times – or 16 if you count split votes for Kate Winslet, who was up for two
films with The Reader and Revolutionary Road.

“The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards” Will Be Telecast Live On NBC Jan. 17
Halle Berry, Colin Farrell and Matthew Fox have
been set as presenters at “The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards” on
Sunday, January 17. The show, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will be
broadcast live coast to coast on NBC (5 to 8 pm PT, 8 to 11 pm ET) from
The Beverly Hilton.
“The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards” will be seen in more than 160
countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span
both television and motion picture achievements.

Thirty-First Annual Young Artist Awards
The Annual awards will celebrate the achievements' made by young actors and actress in TV and film.
